Pardon me, dishes and laundry. I have more important things to do...like follow behind a naughty boy and clean up after him.

Rock n roll...and a lonely Friday night

For Father's Day, I got Justin some guitar songbooks, since he mentioned that he would like to learn some songs that he could "pick" to. One of the books was "100 Greatest Songs of Rock & Roll". There's some good ones in there. I put some of my favorites on the playlist.

And, since Justin is off on a campout with the boy scouts tonight I thought I'd recreate one of our favorite pastimes...butcher a famous song with our own made up words. To commemorate this lonely night, the lucky winner for "song to be butchered" is Brown Eyed Girl. Feel free to replace the real words with my ridiculous ones as the song plays.

Hey, where did you go?
One hot summer night,
up on Mt Lemmon
being like a boy,
playing capture the flag, hey
skipping and a jumping.
In the freezing mountain air with-
out your favorite thing. That's me,
your blue eyed girl.
Me, your blue eyed girl.

Whatever happened
to reading together?
Do I have to play video
games all night long?
Who's going to keep me warm once I
fall asleep at 1 am?
Who am I going to shove over
from the middle of the bed? Not you,
my green eyed boy.
You, my green eyed boy.

Do you remember when
we used to sing...
(Sha la la la la, la la la la, la la te da...just like that)

Well, I guess it's okay,
now that I'm all on my own.
I'll watch chick flicks in my room,
with a big bowl of Blue Bell.
I'll stretch out all across the bed,
sleep late, use your pillow.
Won't have no knees in my back,
or a big ol' blanket hog! Yea you,
my green eyed boy!
You're my green eyed boy.

Do you remember when
we used to sing...
(Sha la la la la, la la la la, la la te da...bit by bit)
